Curing Slice
Slice is one of the most common problems faced by the beginners and the amateur golf players. I think almost everyone who plays golf must have faced such a condition where they needed some help curing slice. Many people must have tried many things like changing their golf club, or tried different swings, but curing slice must have made them sweat a lot.

Reasons for Slicing
Although slice is very common problem but people still struggle to fix it. But, you don’t need to worry because you have reached the right place and once you know where you are wrong then you can easily hit the ball nicely without the slice. The slice is cause due to the clubface hitting the ball at some angle rather than hitting it straight because the golfer may have an out to in swing path or open face clud or in some cases both. This causes the ball to spin and due to that the ball swings in air and moves to the right following a left to right trajectory (for a right handed golfer) or to the left following the right to left trajectory in case of left handed golfer. Instead of curing slice some of us try to compensate this curved trajectory of the ball by aiming towards the left of the target but this can increase the problem as the ball gets more spin while hitting it to the left and the ball moves even farther to the right side. Although there are chances that the ball may reach in the direction of the target but some of the distance will be lost in the process so it is essential to cure slice than to compensate it.
How can you Cure Slice
Curing Slice is a time taking process and it needs a lot of practice to hit the ball straight. To hit the ball straight without the slice, the aim should be at the target and you must concentrate of your swing path. Take into account that you have an in to out swing path. For curing slice you will also need to check yous standing position. You stand too much close to the ball and you will not be able to hit it correctly and if you stand too far then you will have to bend your body too much which is not advisable. Also avoid gripping the club very hard as this can also cause slicing.

Key points to remember for curing slice
1. Focus on the ball
2. Check your grip.
3. Check your stance.
4. Have an in to out swing rather than having out to in swing path.
Curing slice may be difficult task for some people but it is better than compensating for it. You might get demoralised while your practice sessions for some time but there will be a phase when you will be hitting the ball very straight and to the farthest distance you can hit.
